Signing your Daylight Energy Subscription PPA is the beginning of your project. Before your system can begin operating, Daylight and our installation partners need to verify your home’s conditions, finalize your system design, complete installation, and obtain the necessary approvals.

Your project will generally move through these stages:

A technician visits your home to verify your roof, electrical equipment, measurements, equipment locations, and other property conditions needed to finalize your system.

We use the information collected during your site survey to create the final design for your home.

Because this design is based on actual measurements and site conditions, it may differ from the preliminary system presented when you signed your PPA.

Daylight and our partners submit the required permits and utility interconnection documentation.

Your solar panels, battery, and associated electrical equipment are installed.

After installation, your system may require local inspections, testing, and configuration before it can be activated.

Where required, your utility reviews the completed project and provides authorization for the system to operate with the electrical grid.

Once the applicable requirements are complete, Daylight places your system in service.

We’ll notify you when this happens and provide information about your Daylight account, system monitoring, and billing.

Some stages involve your local permitting authority or utility and are outside Daylight’s direct control, so the amount of time between installation and activation can vary.
