Your Daylight battery serves two purposes: providing backup power to your home and participating in Daylight’s broader energy network.
Daylight controls when the battery charges and discharges, including when it participates in eligible grid programs.
Because of this, your battery may not remain at 100% charge during normal operation.
Will I still have backup power?
Your battery is designed to provide backup power during a utility outage.
The amount of backup energy available when an outage begins depends on the battery’s state of charge at that time. How long that energy lasts depends on how much electricity your home uses during the outage and your system configuration.
Participating in Daylight’s distributed energy network does not remove the battery’s backup-power function.
