Virtual Power Plants are dispatched infrequently - only when energy demand on the grid is very high, and power prices are spiking. These “peak demand events” do not typically occur during national weather alerts or storms, but rather on exceptionally warm days.
This means that you’ll typically have your full battery to use for backup power in the case of storm-driven or other outages. Daylight always provides best efforts to ensure your battery is charged and ready to protect you in the event of storms and power outages.
If you bring your own battery to Daylight, you may opt out of events if you so choose, but it may impact your potential compensation amount.
